Afribate

Afribate was founded on the 16th of August 2015 after human rights monitors in Monrovia, indicated evidence of physical violence and abuse.

Afribate aims to address the needs of vulnerable young people between the ages of five to eighteen in Liberia and Zambia. With a special focus on young people at risk of child sexual abuse and child labour. The charity aims to address this and various issues faced by African communities in Newport .

Establishing both Southern and Western African values and identity in Newport and collaborate with other community groups in Wales through delivering awareness building workshops and exchanges to help build bridges and improve relationships.

Support services to southern & Western African communities in Newport. Promote positive relationships amongst Newport residents and other ethnic groups, Promote educational resources to disadvantaged young people with particular attention to Asylum seekers seeking refuge in Newport, Wales.

Current projects include Stargurlz & AT-RISK-KIDS program in Liberia. We are currently liaising with Jack Cecup school in Lusaka, Zambia to get involved with other projects.
