Influencing Policy for Better Change.

International Development & African Diaspora

Sef - Cymru

SEF-Cymru was formed in 2000 to address the under-achievement of Cardiff students. Since then, we have been dedicated to the growth and education of young children so that they may better their chances of receiving a satisfactory grade in their exams.

We are proud to say that we now provide tuition to over 100 children a week in subjects ranging from Maths to Sciences including A-level topics. More recently we have begun putting on taster courses for women in our community to provide them with extended skills and develop their self esteem and confidence. As well as focusing on international development and linking our Diaspora communities with their respective home countries for dual learning and development.

Youth & Education: Study Clubs and Revision classes are at the heart of our Youth

and Education programme. Sports & Physical Activity: Using sports as a tool to engage young people

Community Organising: Training leaders to carry out listening campaigns and identify issues. Women: Learning without barriers project, aiming to improve community cohesion and integration for BME women and children and improve achievement, self-confidence and self-esteem of young people.

International Development: Starting with Linking Wales with Somaliland Youth we have recognised the need for twin learning and skills development, in the future we will also look at developing links with our other members home countries.
