A new cultural collaboration between Ty Cerdd (Music Centre Wales) and Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel.
Held at Ty Cerdd, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff CF10 5AL
Wednesdays from 7pm – 9pm
You might be into Afrobeat, drill, hip hop, drum and base or classical; perhaps you’re a writer, animator, film-maker or dancer? Affricerdd is all about building connections and exploring the diversity of music and cultures we have in Wales. We will look at genres that influence communities across Wales, from Afrobeat to Bhangra, and Malian Blues to Welsh folk music.
The sessions began on 15th January but you are more than welcome to come along on a Wednesday evening until 18th March. The sessions for the summer term will then run from 22nd April – 10th June 2020.
There will be music and discussion hosted by vocalist Tumi Williams (Afrocluster) and composer /performer Helen Woods.
Come along – bring an instrument, a voice, or just your imagination. Participate Talk Listen!
