Film: Safari Tatu (15)

Coming of age film exploring identity, relationship and womanhood.

And À mon âge je me cache encore pour fumer (I still hide when I smoke- over 18)

Directed by Rayhana Obermeyer, the film follows Fatima, a strong-willed woman who works as a masseuse in a hamam in Algiers. The year is 1995, and the situation in the capital is tense, as laws are being passed limiting women's freedoms.

"The women stroll around naked, smoke, and talk about sex, politics and religion, and we, the viewers, are privileged witnesses to the dynamics of this diverse and fascinating group of people"
